TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS WITH RUBBER GO FROM SHOES TO ASPHALT

THE RAW MATERIAL IS ADOPTED IN ALL INDUSTRIAL SEGMENTS OF THE WORLD

There are currently in the global market over 40 thousand articles made of natural rubber. The raw material is present in over 400 medical devices. Brazil is one of the world’s greatest latex producers and the 5th greatest consumer worldwide. The growth in both natural and synthetic rubber consumption is closely associated with the behavior of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Thus, generally speaking, the more the economy grows, the higher the rubber consumption.  The investments of the tire industries and the growing vehicle production and export have contributed to the increase in the demand of rubber and other raw materials. Given its molecular structure and high molecular mass, the natural rubber is resilient, elastic, plastic, as well as wear and tear and impact-resistant. It is also an electrical insulator and gas- and water-proof, properties that are not observed in synthetic polymers. In Brazil, supply and demand are far from each other since the mid-twentieth century. The production and consumption curves are more and more apart from each other. As a result, Braskem, which is one of the leading companies in the rubber sector, has launched Braskem Unilene®, a line of hydrocarbon resins that embodies technical and economic advantages. Part of various stages in the shoemaking process, from the preparation of the surface to the final assembly, such line is compatible with most solvents and polymers. The product improves shine, adherence and drying properties of traffic marking paints. Unilene® consists of an additive that improves the rubber performance, helps the tire adhere to the wet floor and reduces the rolling resistance. In truck tires, the resin is also used in retreading.  In the city of Caxias do Sul, state of Rio Grande do Sul, a law proposed by councilor Renato Oliveira (PCdoB) and passed by the City Council enables the adoption of used tires to compose the asphalt for paving roads of the city, which suggests that 15% of crumb rubber may be used as asphalt binder. The city follows the example of other cities that will begin to prepare the asphalt sooner or later. According to the Construction secretary of the city, Leandro Pavan, during a period where there is little demand, only discarded tires (around 500 vehicles) of the city would be enough already for preparing the asphalt. Whenever there is the need for more raw material, rubber could be obtained from the private initiative. Currently, the Construction Department pays to discard used tires. Such solutions demonstrate that the sector might evolve. Expobor Against the economic crisis, Expobor – 13th International Rubber Technology Show, whichtakes place on June 26 to 28, at Expo Center Norte, in the city of São Paulo, now counts on a portfolio of around 100 national and international exhibitors. The fair will promote rounds of negotiations of several interconnected several segments, such as: rubber artifacts, automation, laboratory equipment, set of tools, machinery and equipment, raw materials, molds and tools, in addition to chemical products, projects and energy systems. The meeting will also discuss the new researches in production technologies, in addition to recycling and waste treatment.  The following sectors are one of those contemplated by the fair: rubber artifact, automotive, footwear, machinery and components, electrical and electronics, oil, tire, steelworks, among others. Raw material suppliers, importers, exporters, technicians, consultants, and professionals of the sector from all states of Brazil, in addition to over twenty countries, will attend the event.  17th Brazilian Congress of Rubber Technology | 9th National Meeting of Natural Rubber National and international lecturers will attend the event, and the Congress of Associação Brasileira de Tecnologia de Borracha (ABTB) will count on panels, workshops, presentations, and debates regarding the sector. With discussions about the latest and best solutions for the market, the 17th Brazilian Congress of Rubber Technology, which takes place on June 26 and 27, will bring the most recent researches and studies concerning innovation, sustainability and high production efficiency.  Thepurpose of the 9th National Meeting of Natural Rubber, however, which will be held on June 28, is to foster the exchange of ideas regarding crucial themes of the sector related to professional training, such as: production, sustainability, technology and application of techniques. The event will be supported by research institutes, universities and technical centers of the industry. PneuShow In parallel with 2018 Expobor, visitors exploring the 17 thousand sqm2 of Expo Center Norte may also check out the latest products of the 13th edition of PneuShow – 13th International Tire Industry Expo. The event gathers 70 exhibitors of the segments of wheels, rims, and accessories; equipment for shops and tire shops; tire production, retreading and vulcanization; industrial security; precured treads; camelbacks; patches; tires for cargo transportation, among others.  SERVICE: 2018 EXPOBOR – 13th International Rubber Technology Show Date: June 26 to 28  Time: from 01:00 pm to 08:00 pm Venue: Expo Center Norte Promoter and Organizer: Francal Feiras Cooperation: ABIARB – Associação Brasileira da Indústria de Artefatos de Borracha; Sindibor – Sindicato da Indústria de Artefatos de Borracha no Estado de São Paulo Support: ABTB – Associação Brasileira de Tecnologia da Borracha; APABOR – Associação Paulista de Produtores e Beneficiadores de Borracha; ABNT – Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas; SLTC – Sociedad Latino Americana de Tecnologia Del Caucho
